Longhorn Day 2025
THANK YOU for a great Longhorn Day 2025! We had such a great day on Friday. It couldn’t have happened with out the support of the admin and teachers at Harpool, our great LHD Committee led by VP of Fundraising Krissy Tarwater, all of our volunteers, our sponsors – and YOU, our Longhorn families and students. Our main fundraiser is closed, but we accept donations all year to help support our budget and goals.
We’ll wrap up passing out raffle tickets on Monday, 11/17 to be sure we get all the last minute donations, and then draw for prizes during lunches later this week.

Longhorn Day is our annual school-wide fundraiser, and this year it’s bigger than ever. On November 14, every student will enjoy a day filled with inflatables, games, contests, and school spirit. New for 2025 – it’s COMPLETELY FREE to participate!
Here’s how it works:
Each student has their own fundraising page through 99Pledges. Every dollar raised supports Harpool PTA’s mission to make every child’s potential a reality. You should have received an email on October 31 with the link to your student’s page. This email is sent to the primary email you have registered with Denton ISD.
The first $50,000 raised funds our PTA’s operating budget covering student programs, staff grants, family engagement events, and staff appreciation.
Funds raised above $50,000 will go toward building an outdoor classroom with seating for 35 students, giving teachers a place to take learning outdoors, proven to boost focus, creativity, and wellness. Why? Research shows that time outdoors improves focus, reduces stress, and enhances creativity – benefits especially important for middle school students who spend much of their day under fluorescent lights. Teachers will be able to take learning outside, offering students a healthier and more stimulating environment.
Incentives & Prizes:
Raffle tickets are earned as students raise funds. The more you raise, the more tickets you earn!
- Any donation at all → 1 ticket (so every student has a chance!)
- $25 raised → +1 ticket (2 total)
- $50 raised → +2 tickets (4 total)
- $100 raised → +5 tickets (9 total)
- $150 raised → +7 tickets (16 total)
- $200 raised → +10 tickets (26 total)
Prizes include gift cards, headphones, and even a TV!
Bonus Rewards: Raise $50 and unlock the FOAM PIT. Raise $100 and unlock FLAG FOOTBALL and 6 THROWS AT THE DUNK TANK.
At $50,000 as a school → we unlock a free Dodgeball Night.
At $75,000 as a school → we unlock “Tat the Teacher”.
At $100,000 → we’re in for a FUN SURPRISE with our administration!

The Goal
Why are we raising $100,000?
The first $50,000 funds the operational budget of Harpool PTA. It allows us to support our school through:
– Programs like Tall Cop (coming January 2026)
– Renaissance (quarterly for A/B Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance)
– Staff Appreciation
– End of year grade parties
– Hospitality at Career Day
– Dodgeball Tournament (planned for Fall 2025)
What about the remaining $50,000?
Our goal is to enhance the outdoor courtyards between the grade level halls and create outdoor classrooms. Research supports fresh air and sunshine in youth development and in learning. We will add colorful, durable outdoor modular seating and enhance the landscaping if we raise enough money.

Ways to Help
Raffle Prizes: As students fundraise, they will receive raffle tickets. Help us fill the raffle boxes! Can you donate a gift card for $10 or more to any location middle school kids love? You can sign up here to let us know (or just surprise us!). Just keep it family friendly and above $10. Drop off your gift cards in the Harpool Front Office or in the box on the porch at 1191 Mission Lane.

Food Options
New for 2025!
As always, students will go to lunch prior to Longhorn Day.
Pre-ordered food is CLOSED. A limited number of extras of Cane’s, Domino’s, Whataburger, and Crumbl will be available first-come, first-served on Friday. Concessions and KONA Ice will also be available. Bring cash or card to purchase tickets to redeem for food on Friday.
We recommend $20 for tickets.

During lunch for the next 10 days, PTA will be in the cafeteria with music, fun games, prizes, and recognition. Students who have pre-ordered lunch or raised money will be in the drawing to participate in the games each day. Donate here (or on your student’s page) and pre-order food online or send this form with cash/check/card to turn in during lunch.
On Monday, November 10, we will start handing out raffle tickets based on fundraising. Tickets will be placed in the raffle boxes and winners drawn on 11/17.

If you want guaranteed food on LHD, you must pre-order. There will be a limited amount of food available day-of, but it will go fast and prices will increase.
